They are the very best in the Prairies this year

The Prairie Football Conference is pleased to announce their Outstanding Player Award winners for the 2016 regular season.

Of the 13 awards handed out the Calgary Colts have six winners, while the Regina Thunder have three.

Coach of the Year – Iain MacLean – Edmonton Huskies

Outstanding Offensive Lineman – Jordan Kuziek – Calgary Colts

Outstanding Offensive Back – Victor St. Pierre-Laviolette – Regina Thunder – 120 carries* for 1020 yards* and 8 touchdowns on route to his PFC rushing title

Outstanding Receiver – Dylan Schrot – Calgary Colts – 39 receptions* for 651 yards and 2 touchdowns

Outstanding Quarterback – Brad Launhardt – Edmonton Huskies - 178 completions*, 2,241 yards*, 16 touchdowns, a completion percentage of 58% and an efficiency rating of 84.1%

Outstanding Defensive Lineman – Ryan Warner – Regina Thunder – 15 tackles, 11 assists, 2 sacks, 1 forced fumble

Outstanding Defensive Linebacker – Colton Burr – Calgary Colts – 41 tackles, 13 assists, 1 block, 3 knockdowns, 1 fumble recovery, 3 interceptions

Outstanding Defensive Back – Marcus Hall – Regina Thunder – 32 tackles, 11 assists, 1 block, 3 knockdowns, 2 interceptions, 1 for a touchdown

Outstanding Special Teams  - Stephen Fabian– Calgary Colts – 15* of 26*in field goals, longest of 39 yards, 57%, 63 punts, 2,256 net yards*, 35.8 net average*

Rookie of the Year – Austin Daisy – Calgary Colts – 23 tackles, 17 assists, 3 sacks, 1 fumble recovery

Most Valuable Player – Jared Andreychuk  – Saskatoon Hilltops – 121 completions, 2,008 yards, 22 touchdowns*, 9.89 average yards, 114.7 passer efficiency rating

Outstanding Defensive Player of the Year – Defensive Back – Colton Burr – Calgary Colts – 41 tackles, 13 assists, 1 block, 3 knockdowns, 1 fumble recovery, 3 interceptions

Outstanding Offensive Player of the Year – Quarterback - Brad Launhardt – Edmonton Huskies - 178 completions*, 2,241 yards*, 16 touchdowns, a completion percentage of 58% and an efficiency rating of 84.1%


The Prairie Conference of the CJFL is also pleased to announce their Rookie All-Star Team for the 2016 regular season.

Offensive Lineman:
Alex Loosemoore – Edmonton Huskies
Mike Rea - Edmonton Wildcats

Running back:
Joshua Ewanchyma – Saskatoon Hilltops – 64 carries for 547 yards and 5 touchdowns

Receiver:
Dallas Burke – Calgary Colts – 5 receptions, 67 yards and 1 touchdown

Quarterback:
Brock Sich – Regina Thunder – 29 completions, 496yards, 7 touchdowns, a completion percentage of 74% and an efficiency rating of 166.2%

Place Kicker:
James Reid – Regina Thunder – 8 of 12, longest was 38 yards, 66%

Defensive Lineman:
Justin Kwiatkoski – Winnipeg Rifles – 7 tackles, 7 assisted tackles and 1 sack

Linebacker:
Austin Daisy – Calgary Colts – 23 tackles, 17 assists, 3 sacks, 1 fumble recovery

The Prairie Conference final will kick-off at 1:00pm on Sunday afternoon in Saskatoon when the Hilltops host the Calgary Colts.  The winner will fly to BC for the 2016 CJFL Canadian Bowl National Championship game.
